What a delightful surprise to find myself and my work in your newsletter! Thank you! I am so thrilled you loved the books. I look forward to seeing you sometime soon! xoxo
Loved reading about all the writerly and family events you manage to pack your months with, Janet! I also read one of Jennifer Steil's books, Exile Music, (amazing story of resilience, love in its various forms and meanings, enduring connections, historical tragedies) and now want to read the two you have read. By the way, I thought the title of the artwork you just added to your mantel, Readerville, is brilliant - I'm sure someone will soon use it for their Substack! Stay cool, and enjoy the Nantes workshop!
Thank you, Anca! I agree about the artwork. So creative. It is right next to Jacques's beautiful tableau. I'm glad that you enjoyed Jennifer's work, too.📘📖❤️🖋
Wonderful trip, Janet, and great photos! It's easy to see you and Eddie were having a delightful time. Thanks for recommending The Ambassador's Wife, which reminded me that I loved all the book references in The Parisian Chapter. That's how I learned that one of my favorite novels, How The Garcia Girls Lost Their Accent, was translated into French!
Another fantastic newsletter! You had a fun-filled action packed June! Try to stay cool…your weather looks miserable to me! I love you
We had a good time! So glad we could celebrate together. Love you ❤️
That art by Lisa Vanden Bos is SO COOL! I want one! :)
I agree! It was such a wonderful surprise to receive.
Sigh! Such beautiful photos of our city by the bay. Sometimes I miss it so much!
I love Jennifer’s writing and I love Jennifer. We are so lucky to know so many excellent authors—you included! ❤️
It was so wonderful to spend time there. I visited some great bookstores. I am a fan of Jennifer's writing, too. I enjoyed your essay this month!

My pleasure! I'm sorry to miss the writing session this week. Anca and I will find a time to meet at your cafe in Villejuif.

If La Cigale cafe is open, it's a gorgeous 19th century high ceiling place. Also La Passage Pommerye...
They both sound amazing!
